Dr. Tyler Simpson

Founder, CEO, DVM

I proudly graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.  While I had a love for small animal medicine and surgery,  it was the genuine connection with clients and the family-like atmosphere of a small private practice that truly captured my heart. I strongly believe that no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care.  This realization reinforced my belief that compassion and care are the pillars of exceptional veterinary care.

As a devoted pet parent myself to Emma, Max, and Rex, who are my beloved fur babies, I had a dream of opening a practice that catered to people who share the same passion for their pets as I do. In 2022, that dream became a reality as I founded FurWell Veterinary Hospital, a place where I could work directly with other pet parents to ensure that pets live their best, happiest, and healthiest lives.

If you, too, are a dedicated pet parent and understand the deep bond we share with our four-legged friends, I invite you to join our FurWell family. Together, we can make a positive impact in our community and the world. Your journey with us starts here, and I am excited to welcome you to our pet parent movement. Let’s change the world for the better, one paw at a time!

R. Lindley Pursley

DVM

Dr. R. Lindley Pursley was born and raised in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and his journey in veterinary medicine began at Clemson University, where he earned his degree in dairy science in 1985. Originally intending to focus on large animal medicine, Dr. Pursley experienced a shift in passion during his time at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, where he discovered his true calling in small animal care. He graduated in 1989, ready to bring compassionate and expert care to his community.

In 1988, Dr. Pursley married his wife, Pamela, and they chose to settle in Greenville, SC, where he joined Barkingham Palace Veterinary Hospital in 1999. Just a year later, in 2000, he took on full ownership of the clinic, dedicating himself to building a practice where pets and their families received attentive, personalized care. In October 2024, Dr. Pursley proudly transitioned the legacy of Barkingham to Dr. Tyler Simpson, entrusting him to continue providing quality veterinary care, free from corporate constraints.

Dr. Pursley and Pam are proud parents to two adult children, Katherine (31) and Richard (28). Their family also includes three beloved dogs and two cats, making their home lively and full of love.
